The original was based of a war simulator and was very bare bone; looking down sights, breathing after running offsetting aim plus the usual crouching/prone benefits.
Quite often you'd get fucked by a sniper in the tree's just because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and a decent leg shot will off you.
None of that recharging health bullshit.

Fuck yeah, I remember always leaving my tank or whatever they gave you to drive at a start of a mission and go hunting for Russian helicopters. If you managed to hijack a Hind there would be hell to pay for all enemy ground forces.
