Cat and peculiar smell

My cat--fifi--does something odd when I am playing around with her. She loves to be slapped on her ass and on her back just after the neck(Some dogs like that too). However, when I overdue it, she lets off a strange smell. When I smell that I can't help but think of a lion spraying pheromone on a branch or plant. Cats do the same thing? Is it a fart or urine? I can not figure it out as there is no visible or audible clues. When this happens I have to go and wash my hands, as for my cat, she washes her lower body, all of it--repeatedly--even parts she seems to forget she had cleaned previously.

That smell means that she is ready to fuck.
